I used to wing everything I wrote back in college.
Instead of taking the time to plan out what I wanted to say and how I wanted to say it, I would just let the words figure themselves out and hope that at the end, I had something I could post or publish.
And let’s just say – that’s not going to cut it for your copywriting.
The thing about copy is, it’s not meant to just be entertaining.
Even though you can write engaging and entertaining sales pages, emails, captions, and more (and I highly recommend you do!)
The purpose of copy is to inspire an action.

That’s why, before you sit down to write anything, you need to decide on the action you want the reader to take after they read what you have to say.
(sidebar: it doesn’t always have to be about purchasing an offer. this applies to inviting people to share, like, or respond to what you’ve written, encouraging email sign-ups, and more)
When I started asking myself ‘What is the goal of this piece of copy‘ before writing, everything became easier.
Seriously.
Lots of people call this a CTA or a call-to-action in the industry.
And if you want to take it a step FURTHER and you’re writing for your next launch or offer –
Taking the time to really dive deep and outline the details of what you’re selling, why you’re selling it, and everything in between can lead to more persuasive and effective copy.
That leads to excited customers ready to press ‘Buy Now!’
Some of the questions you can dive into deeper are:
✔️ What transformation is your offer promising?
✔️ Why did you create this offer?
✔️ What makes you an authority in your space?
✔️ How does your offer compare to others on the market?
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
But as you start brainstorming and clarifying the WHY behind everything you’re doing, writing copy becomes 10x easier.
This was my WHY for creating the DIY Launch Copywriting Workbook & Bundle.
